SBI Warn To Stay Away From False Income Tax Refund Message
SBI alerts crores of customers amid lockdown. This SMS can empty your account.
SBI-State Bank of India, the largest government bank in the country, has warned its 40 crore customers that an SMS can empty your bank account.
Coronavirus Lockdown Part 3 fraud is increasing rapidly. That is why the government and banks (Bank Customer) are constantly alerting their customers. SBI has also sent similar alert messages to the customer. State Bank of India (SBI) has warned its account holders against income tax refund message.
The bank has alerted its customers to fraudulent messages. SBI has informed by tweeting that if the customer has received any message from the Income Tax Department, in which a process has been followed for income tax refund from you, then ignore that message. Because that is a fraud message. SBI said that the customers have been requested not to click on such suspicious links nor to share any personal information with anyone.
The Income Tax Department has also tweeted and warned taxpayers from 'phishing' emails and messages promising refunds. While alerting the taxpayers that they should not click on any such link in which a refund has been promised. These messages have not been sent by the Income Tax Department.

It has been written that the Income Tax Department does not request detailed personal information through e-mail. The IT department does not send e-mails requesting PIN numbers, passwords or information on credit cards, banks or other financial accounts.In fact, in view of the Corona crisis, the government has issued a directive to the Income Tax Department to give refund to the taxpayers at the earliest, after which e-mail is being sent by the IT department to the taxpayer, with 1.74 lakh cases so far. Mails have been sent for confirmation.
